BELGRADE The election assembly of the Democratic Party (DS) has been postponed for November 25, B92 has learnt. DS leader Boris Tadic has proposed that the elections be postponed. Democrats postpone party elections for Nov. 25 The decision to postpone the elections was made in order to discuss conditions that Tadic laid out to his deputy Dragan Djilas in exchange for withdrawal of his bid for the party leader. Tadic said earlier that the decision whether he would run for the DS leader or support Djilas would depend on the acceptance of his proposal. His proposal envisages a reform of the party and its positioning as a social-democratic party, expansion of the DS Presidency’s jurisdiction and statutory changes that would enable wider internal democracy and establish both vertical and horizontal responsibility.
