BELGRADE Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic has dubbed as "ridiculous" the claim of DS party leader Boris Tadic that he was the reason Tadic failed to form a government. In May, Tadic lost his bid to be elected Serbia's president for a third term, followed by his now opposition Democrats (DS) failure to form a majority in parliament. Minister slams ex-president's "excuse" for failure Dinkic accused Tadic of "looking for excuses because (DS) party elections are coming up". He told his former political ally to instead "consider his own mistakes". "I'm guessing that not even one percent of (party) members believe that I was the reason he could not form a government, that I was the reason he did not win in the presidential elections, that I was the reason he lost power," said Dinkic for Radio Belgrade, and added: "If he continues to think in this way, he will lose it all." According to the minister and URS party leader, "a person can turn their life around only if they admit that they made mistakes and try to correct them": "Everybody makes mistakes - what makes us different is whether we're aware of the mistakes, and ready to admit to them and change." Dinkic once again during the interview stressed that Tadic's failure to put together a ruling coalition was not his fault, and added that "the current coalition partners in fact, in a way, begged me to join the government and take on a job that nobody wanted to do."
