BRUSSELS NATO does not intend to reduce the number of troops in Kosovo after the closing of the International Civilian Office (ICO). This is according to the western military alliance's Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who spoke on Monday. "NATO will not remove troops from Kosovo" "Our strategy will not change and the number of NATO troops will remain the same," Rasmussen told a news conference at the NATO seat in Brussels. The ICO shutdown is seen as "the end of the supervised and the beginning of full independence for Kosovo" - which Pristina is celebrating on Monday with a series of ceremonies.
