BELGRADE First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Aleksandar Vucic is on Monday starting his two-day visit to Germany. He is expected to discuss a wide range of topics with his hosts, including Kosovo, the fight against corruption and investments in Serbia's energy and hydro-power systems. Serbia's first deputy PM in trip to Germany On the eve of his visit to Berlin, Vucic said Germany was an important political and economic partner, without which Serbia's EU accession and further development could not be imagined. Together with Energy Minister Zorana Mihajlovic, on Monday Vucic will sign a memorandum of understanding and strategic partnership between German energy producer RWE and Serbia's state-run electric power company EPS. While in Germany, Vucic will meet with German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economy and Technology Philipp Roesler, Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel, and Chancellor Angela Merkel's EU policy and foreign affairs advisors, Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut and Christoph Heusgen respectively. He will also confer with State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Emily Haber, and Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Defense Christian Schmidt. He will have top-level meetings at the German Ministry of Defense. On the eve of his visit to Berlin, Vučić said Germany was an important political and economic partner, without which Serbia's EU accession and further development could not be imagined.
