BELGRADE Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic says that Serbia’s Kosovo policy must not be burdened with constant reassessments and self-censoring. He added that the moment that would determined the country’s future course should not be missed. Kosovo policy needs to be clear, LDP leader says “It is time to skip the phrases of interpretations, number of figures in Kosovo’s country code, asymmetry, footnotes and asterisks and to finally turn to the life,” he told Beta news agency. He said that key elements of the new Kosovo policy need to be an absolutely efficient plan for the implementation of the agreements and a plan for the solving of issues that are conditions for the beginning of the EU accession talks, such as telecommunications, energy, institutions. “And finally, we will insist that the entire thing is not looked in a context ‘what we need to sacrifice in order to get the candidacy’ but how to connect those two processes, how to make solutions and advantages from the European experience and reforms a means for the solving of the Kosovo issues,” Jovanovic stressed. He added that the future platform needed to be free of repeated promises and that it needed to be completely different than the previous one in order to be successful.
