BELGRADE More than 5,000 citizens packed in downtown Belgrade Tuesday night to greet members of the Serbian Olympic team who brought home medals from the Olympics. The crowd gathered in front of the City Assembly, the traditional place for celebrating the achievements of Serbian athletes at big competitions, creating a great patriotic atmosphere to welcome back home gold winner Milica Mandic, silver-adorned Ivana Maksimovic and bronze medalists Andrija Zlatic and the national men's water polo team. Over 5,000 citizens greet Serbian Olympians The returning Olympians arrived at the Belgrade City Assembly after riding the streets of the capital in an open bus, drawing loud cheers from the fans. Prime Minister Ivica Dacic hosted a reception for the athletes earlier this evening and thanked them on “achieving the results at the Olympics that have made Serbia proud”. The returning Olympians arrived at the Belgrade City Assembly after riding the streets of the capital in an open bus, drawing loud cheers from the fans.

Prime Minister Ivica Dačić hosted a reception for the athletes earlier this evening and thanked them on “achieving the results at the Olympics that have made Serbia proud”.

The Olympians arrived at the Nikola Tesla airport during the night between Monday and Tuesday, where they were greeted by President Tomislav Nikolić.
