KOSOVSKA MITROVICA Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Kosovo Board has accused PM Aleksandar Vucic of “announcing further betrayal” of the Serbian national and state interests. The DSS board has assessed that the new government’s policy will be like the policy of the previous government, that the EU has no alternative. DSS accuses deputy PM of “betraying Serbian interests” “Vucic’s statement that the Serbian people need to be ready for a painful compromise during the solving of the Kosovo and Metohija status announces further betrayal of the Serbian national and state interests in the southern Serbian province,” reads a release signed by DSS Kosovo Board President Nenad Kojic. Kojic pointed out that the deputy prime minister saw a reason for the compromise in a desire to get a date for the beginning of the EU accession talks so Serbia could have access to EU funds, claiming it was an “exchange of territory for the EU”. “In a material sense, Kosovo and Metohija is worth a lot more. According to free assessment of western agencies and institutions, the value of mineral resources is between USD 4,500bn and USD 5,000bn. U.S. Diplomat Philip Gordon asked from Belgrade, it was one of his five requests, to renounce the energy resources in its southern province,” the DSS pointed out. The party added that Vucic had asked for Gordon’s approval to be a National Security Council secretary and assessed that “it speaks of a clear role of Brussels and Washington in the forming of the new Serbian government and explains why the Office for Kosovo was formed instead of a ministry”.
