BELGRADE PM-designate Ivica Dacic has assessed that talks with Social-Democratic Party of Serbia (SDPS) leader Rasim Ljajic were “very good and positive”. Dacic and Ljajic met on Friday to discuss possible participation of the SDPS in the future government. Dacic assesses talks with SDPS leader as “positive” Dacic added that details of SDPS’ possible participation in the government would be discussed next week. He said that Ljajic would in the meantime talk with the Democratic Party (DS), since the SDPS was on the DS’ electoral list. The future prime minister explained that he had presented the policy and goals of the new government to Ljajic. “I think there is no dispute over it and that we agree on the goals, both the coalition that will make the parliamentary majority and Ljajic’s party,” the SPS leader explained. He told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) that he had also spoken to Party of Democratic Action of Sandzak leader Sulejman Ugljanin. Dacic said that the talks on candidates for ministers would be held in the beginning of next week. “We have talked about the staffing solutions but a final agreement has not been reached yet. It is practically left to complete the talks between the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) since everything has been defined with other parties,” he pointed out. The SPS leader told Belgrade-based Pink TV that he had not talked to Democratic Party (DS) member Milica Delevic about her participation in the government and that he did not know whether she would accept SNS acting leader Aleksandar Vucic’s offer. “Of course I don’t have anything against people from other parties taking part in the government but not as representatives of those parties,” Dacic said. He once again repeated he expected that parliament’s constitutive session would continue on July 23 where speaker and deputy speakers would be chosen, adding that a session where changes to the Law on Government and Ministries would be made would follow and that the new government would be chosen afterward. The PM-designate announced that if he becomes a PM he will first talk with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton in Brussels. According to him, representatives of German, U.S. and EU administrations had no objection to the future government’s European orientation. Dacic also stressed that he did not expect new conditions regarding Kosovo. Ivica Dacic (Tanjug, file) B92 Tanjug
