BELGRADE Serbia's likely future PM Ivica Dacic stated on Wednesday that he did not call on leader Rasim Ljajic to take part in his government. Both Dacic and Ljajic are ministers in the outgoing government. Ljajic also heads the Social Democratic Party of Serbia (SDPS). Dacic says he "did not invite Ljajic to join new govt." However, Dacic announced that he would conduct talks with Ljajic and other ethnic minority parties so as to inform them about the goals of the future cabinet. "I do not expect him to take part in the parliamentary majority but there must be some room for ethnic minorities," Dacic told reporters after his meeting with Cypriot Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis in Belgrade. He added that he would conduct talks with Ljajic and the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians and the Party of Democratic Action of Sandzak headed by Sulejman Ugljanin so as to inform them about the goals of the new government. "However, it is true that I haven't sent invitations to anyone," he noted. "If some of coalition partners think that representatives of other parties should be invited to take part in the government, this question should be put to them," Dacic said and added that he does not know whether anyone made such calls already. When asked whether he would use his right to veto when deciding on personnel solutions, Dacic said that the future government would resolve all issues through agreements. Dacic added that he would hold the office of interior minister in the new government as well. A coalition agreement was signed in Belgrade on Tuesday, and the SNS-SPS-URS government is expected to be approved in parliament by the end of the month. Ivica Dacic (Tanjug, file) Tanjug
