Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic said Sunday he could not be a part of a government which would agree to have a Pristina office in Belgrade. He added that an office of the Serbian government in Pristina was also unacceptable. Dacic finds Pristina office in Belgrade “unacceptable” “If the two biggest parties - the Democratic Party (DS) and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) - had agreed to this, they should form a coalition with each other,” he pointed out. Dacic told a press conference that foreign political factors needed to inform all participants in the Serbian political scene about the conditions posed before the country on its way to the EU. "If they think it is enough to talk about this with (Serbian President) Tomislav Nikolic and (DS leader) Boris Tadic, then they should form a government. No one can expect me to be the prime minister or a deputy prime minister in a government when there are new conditions I have never heard of, such as the opening of a Serbian government office in Pristina," stressed the SPS leader. “Conditions which have been made public are the resumption of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, implementing earlier agreements, and reaching agreements on energy and telecommunications, while abolishment of parallel institutions or opening of offices was not publicly discussed,” he explained. "I am not a pro-European or a pro-Russian, but a pro-Serbian politician. The policy of constantly adding new conditions is unacceptable. We need to know what is expected of us. You cannot simultaneously implement a pro-European policy and fulfill conditions which are contrary to our interests, and say it is in the interest of the people," Dacic noted. He reiterated he was not willing to be a part of the government under such terms. Ivica Dacic Tanjug
