Head of the VMA Treatment Department Colonel Stevan Sikimic said that the Serbian authorities agreed with the Libyan side to facilitate participation of the VMA professionals in the treatment and organization of Libya's health care centers. “The protocol covered the treatment of Libyan patients, so it was agreed that those who suffered injuries in the recent war should from time to time come to Serbia in groups so as to receive an adequate treatment,” he specified. “In addition to this, the protocol envisages that Libyan medical corps should receive various types of training at the VMA,” he noted. Sikimic said that the VMA has had good cooperation with the Libyan health system for quite a long time, and that around 40 Libyan doctors completed various specialty trainings at the VMA. The visit to Libya was organized from May 25-28, during which the authorities agreed on "various forms of assistance programs related to the treatment of the injured and disabled veterans".
