The B92 Fund campaign Battle for the Babies has moved to Bosnia-Herzegovina, where money is being raised to buy 70 incubators. The medical equipment will be distributed to a number of health institutions. On Tuesday, six incubators, that were requested by the Clinic for Pediatric Diseases of the Clinical Center in Banja Luka, were handed over. B92 humanitarian campaign makes headway in Bosnia A news conference called at the hospital heard that the RS President Milorad Dodik and the Clinical Center donated two machines each, while the m:tel company - a co-organizer of the campaign in Bosnia - and Serbian businessman Milan Popovic donated incubators in a special ceremony. m:tel Executive Director for Marketing Milenko Cvijanovic said: "By handing over the first incubators we are carrying out in practice our basic intention to create better preconditions for living for our youngest within the Battle for the Babies. If the response of our subscribers who dialed the humanitarian number 1411 and that of the media is anything to go by, the campaign is off to a good start, but a lot of joint effort lies ahead so that we can reach the goal and buy all 70 incubators that are need in maternity wards throughout Bosnia-Herzegovina. For that reason I am calling on all socially responsible companies and institutions to join us in this humanitarian battle." Handing over the incubator donated by Milan Popovic, who previously donated 21 machines in Serbia, B92 Fund President of the Managing Board Veran Matic said: "Counting this donation that was made by businessmen in Serbia, I wish to call on all companies regardless of where they are located, and especially those with business activities in Bosnia-Herzegovina, to join this campaign and show social responsibility in that way. Very often, employees of those companies have babies that require this type of assistance. This investment is not only a demonstration of humanity and social and corporate responsibility, but investment into the employees and health of their offspring. We are proud to have motivated companies, but also individuals with this campaign, and that it has caused a snowball effect of solidarity in the region. We will be with babies in the Republic of Srpska and all of Bosnia-Herzegovina, as we have been in Serbia, and since recently in Macedonia. The biggest reward in this campaign is life, but thanks to the humane goal and creation of a better start for the most vulnerable creatures, we have also received the biggest European and global recognition for this campaign." The clinic's Director for Medical Affairs Dr. Zvezdana Rajkovaca thanked the donors, and said: "We are exceptionally happy to be able to say today that our institution covered its stated needs for incubators, and that our little patients now have a satisfactory amount of high quality incubators. I would like to use this occasion to thank all donors who solved a very serious problem, but also the organizers who by raising this campaign sensibilized the public to take more part in solving different problems that we face, not only at the Children's Clinic. The Clinical Center in Banja Luka needs two more transport incubators, needed for the transport of babies between the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics and the Clinic for Childrens' Diseases." Thanking for the delivered incubators, Clinic for Childrens' Diseases Head Stojislav Konjevic pointed out that the donation would certainly help to additionally improve the conditions in the clinic which treats around 4,000 youngest patients from the entire RS every year. m:tel has so far raised around BAM 17,000 through text message donations. Even though the campaign started only ten days ago, the first battles have already been won by solving the Banja Luka clinic’s problem. The problem of the Sarajevo University Clinical Center’s Pediatric Clinic will soon be solved as well.
