Dr Branko Malesev. Donor representatives expressed great satisfaction for having been given an opportunity to participate in the battle for the lives of the prematurely born babies, stressing their belief that new campaign soon to be launched by B92 Fund entitled “Battle for Maternity Wards“ will be equally successful. B92 Fund Director Marija Cecen sincerely thanked the donors on their participation in the Battle for the Babies, adding that although the victory illustrated with the provision of more than 200 incubators in itself represented great achievement, there was no time to waste, as our babies need lots of other equipment in order to be brought up properly. “A new campaign during which we will raise funds for the purchase of the necessary equipment for our maternity wards, we are launching bearing in mind that it is a long way ahead of us, but that it is possible to achieve another victory in the battle for the normal growing up of the babies in our country. Some parts of the equipment, for instance artificial lung, are rather expensive, but there are some cheaper devices that are deficient which will, hopefully, allow lots of people to join us according to their means in the Battle for Maternity Wards,” she concluded. Prof. Dr Georgios Konstantinidis, director of the Child and Youth Health Care Institute of Vojvodina, thanked the donors on their contribution in the constant battle that medical staff wage for the lives of the youngest and then toured them through the intensive care unit where the youngest and the bravest fighters wage their most important battles.
