Serbia's newly elected leader Tomislav Nikolic has promised a visiting EU official that he would travel to Brussels immediately after his inauguration. Miroslav Lajcak, who is on Thursday visiting Belgrade as an envoy of EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, said he delivered an invitation to Nikolic to visit Brussels. Nikolic will attend the congress of the ruling Russian party, United Russia, on May 26 in Moscow. He was invited to the event before the elections, as his party, the Serb Progressives (SNS), has a cooperation agreement with United Russia.
