Speaker: I can't form commission to probe fraud allegations

Outgoing Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic confirmed Wednesday that the body had received the request by the Dveri Movement. She added that she was not competent to form a state commission that would examine the alleged election theft. Speaker: I can't form commission to probe fraud allegations “Based on the Constitution and the law, I cannot form such a commission," Djukic-Dejanovic told Tanjug, adding that she was not authorized to respond or to act upon any of the requests Dveri put forward. The Dveri Movement called Tuesday on the speaker, who is also the acting president, to establish an independent state commission that would look into what Dveri described as a reasonable suspicion of election theft on May 6. “If the commission is not formed, we will organize a protest walk down the center of Belgrade,” the movement said.
