Democratic Party (DS)-led coalition presidential candidate Boris Tadic urged voters Tuesday to give their support to him in the May 20 presidential runoff. He explained that they would this way support a Serbia of reconciliation and clear perspectives, rather than a country that would constantly re-examine its path. I offer reconciliation, perspective, Tadic says "In this election, we want to unite all flags in Serbia, all political ideas which can come together around what is good and useful for the people, we want to preserve peace in Serbia," Tadic said at a convention in Novi Sad. “Noting that the policy uniting the parties on his list is one of consistency and predictability,” he warned that his opponent's was perpetually wavering. "Our words are predictable, thoughts constant and actions verifiable, this is the kind of people we are and this is why we will win on May 20. We are competing against those who say they do not want to join the EU, as well as those who say they do, but might think otherwise. Our opponents are political characters with whom you can never be sure where they are going and what their intentions are, and we need to overcome this problem by winning this election," stressed Tadic. “Our two policies are also essentially different in their attitudes toward peace and stability, with the Democratic Party and parties close to it implementing a policy of good and healing in the aftermath of a policy of evil and violence, which has resurfaced in our rival's camp in recent days,” the DS leader added. "I urge them to find peace within themselves, because that is a prerequisite for peace in Serbia, to not threaten anyone or promote a policy of intimidation, because elections are a celebration of democracy and freedom and not of intimidation," noted Tadic, adding that as in the past, he would be ready to offer a hand of friendship after the second round.
