New Serbia (NS) urged voters Wednesday to support Tomislav Nikolic, leader of the Serb Progressives (SNS) and presidential candidate in the second round. New Serbia said in a statement on Wednesday that it "also wished a happy Europe Day to the citizens of Serbia", and noted that the future of the next Serbian government depends on the outcome of the presidential election. New Serbia backs Nikolic in runoff "Serbia cannot afford to waste another day with this government. Serbia needs structural reforms which will enable new investments, new jobs, take politics out of business and create a favorable business environment," says the release. Voters are urged to back Nikolic so that Serbia will get an opportunity to enact the changes it sorely needs. "More than ever, Serbia needs a man who will be the president of all its citizens and not just one political party, and a new government that will work in the best interest of Serbia and not just one party," the NS concludes. The party's support for Nikolic, who is competing with Democratic Party leader Boris Tadic in the runoff, is not surprising, considering that that it forged a pre-election alliance with the Progressives.
