KFOR to remain neutral, commander says

KFOR Commander General Erhard Drews said on Thursday that the international forces would remain neutral with regard to the holding of the Serbian elections.

KFOR Commander General Erhard Drews said on Thursday that the international forces would remain neutral with regard to the holding of the Serbian elections. The presidential and parliamentary elections will be held in Kosovo on May 6. KFOR to remain neutral, commander says “KFOR will offer assistance where necessary but its troops will stand ready to ensure safety in the entire territory of Kosovo,” he pointed out. During his visit to Pristina, Drews said that KFOR would not hinder or back the Serbian presidential and parliamentary elections in Kosovo. According to the KFOR commander, the Kosovo police will bear the greatest responsibility for the situation in the largest part of Kosovo. During his visit to Priština, Drews said that KFOR would not hinder or back the Serbian presidential and parliamentary elections in Kosovo.

According to the KFOR commander, the Kosovo police will bear the greatest responsibility for the situation in the largest part of Kosovo.

Drews said this referred to the north, as well as other parts of Kosovo.
