Ristic also said that he hoped that the new contingent of KFOR soldiers who were coming to Kosovo would ensure the safety of Serbs in the north. Ristic said that northern Kosovo Serbs were the most vulnerable part of the population in the province, adding that they would not close the alternative routes in the north of the province as that was not in their mandate. Ristic said that representatives of the northern Kosovo Serbs on Wednesday reiterated the demand for increased KFOR presence in areas along the dividing lines between the two ethnic communities in northern Kosovo, pointing to the frequent incidents and provocations by Albanians endangering the safety of the Serbs over the previous few weeks. Besides Zubin Potok, Leposavic and Zvecan municipal officials, the meeting with international representatives in Zubin Potok today was also attended by Kosovska Mitrovica District chief Radenko Nedeljkovic.
