Boris Tadic says his "four-point plan" for the resolution of the Kosovo issue was "not met with opposition in the international community". This plan would be worked on after the May 6 elections, he told a rally in the town of Sabac, western Serbia. Tadic: No partition, no recognition - "it won't be easy" The presidential candidate of the ruling Democratic Party (DS) also stated he was "against the idea of partition of Kosovo and that there would be no recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the southern Serbian province". "However, a solution has to be found, which will not be easy," Tadic observed. “By defending Kosovo we are defending the integrity of our country. We will not abandon our national interests, because we would thus challenge the integrity and everything else, like investment and the future,” he stated. Tadic went on to say that he "did not think that Kosovo was the heart of Serbia, it was rather that the country's people were that, each citizen was the heart of Serbia as they ensured the future of the country". “I will not let our integrity in Kosovo be threatened, but we do not want wars, we want to fight for Kosovo by peaceful means,” concluded Tadic, who earlier this month resigned as Serbia's president to force early presidential elections. The DS leader will seek his third term in office on May 6, when parliamentary and local elections will also be held. Boris Tadic addresses the Sabac rally on Wednesday (Tanjug) Tanjug
