Serbia should be free and neutral and it should not have the “vassal” attitude toward the EU, Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica says. “This is the essence of political neutrality because it allows Serbia to develop and breathe, to develop economically and not to operate at a loss all the time,” he explained. Serbia should be “neutral, free country” The DSS leader stressed that Serbia should be politically neutral in order to preserve the national state and democracy. According to him, “Serbia has in the last four years only had losses on the wrong pathway”. “The current government fulfilled everything that has been asked from us in Brussels. They asked us to willingly give up on Kosovo and Metohija and they were so generous to say ‘you don’t have to do it right away and you do not have to say it out loud, you can do it silently’ and the current government did so,” Kostunica added. He said that Serbia had lost hundreds of millions of euros since the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) had been signed. “It turns out that in this financial arrangement we are financing the EU and not the other way around,” the DSS leader concluded.
