KFOR soldiers removed roadblocks from the local road leading toward villages of Kosutovo, Bistrica and Ceranje in the northern Kosovo on Saturday afternoon. The citizens of the three municipalities were cut off from the main road from Leposavic to Kosovska Mitrovica because a gravel roadblock was put up on this section two nights ago. KFOR removes roadblocks in north KFOR soldiers carried out an action and removed barricades with the help of mechanization and thus normalized traffic on the road toward the ethnic Albanian-populated villages in Leposavic. The road was blocked last summer after the crisis in northern Kosovo triggered by the attempt of the Pristina-based Kosovo Albanian authorities to take over two administrative crossings in the northern part of the province by sending police units there. Some 600 Albanians lived in the villages of Kosutovo, Bistrica and Ceranje before the conflicts in Kosovo, but now only 250 of them remain in the region. (file) Tanjug

KFOR soldiers carried out an action and removed barricades with the help of mechanization and thus normalized traffic on the road toward the ethnic Albanian-populated villages in Leposavić.

The road was blocked last summer after the crisis in northern Kosovo triggered by the attempt of the Priština-based Kosovo Albanian authorities to take over two administrative crossings in the northern part of the province by sending police units there.

Some 600 Albanians lived in the villages of Košutovo, Bistrica and Ceranje before the conflicts in Kosovo, but now only 250 of them remain in the region.
