Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and Dutch Minister for Security Ivo Opstelten signed a Memorandum of Understanding related to police cooperation. It will contribute to the enhancement of the two countries' political relations, Dacic believes. The situation has changed now, Dacic underscored and expressed belief that the development of bilateral relations in the area of interior affairs would serve as the beginning of the best possible political relations between Serbia and Holland. He believes that police cooperation between Serbia and the Netherlands has been very positive in the previous period, both in the area of training and projects and operational police cooperation. The minister recalled joint counter-terrorist actions carried out by the Dutch and the Serbian police services, primarily in the area of countering illegal drug trafficking. Dacic underscored that the Serbian police is receiving instructions on a daily basis from its Dutch colleagues as regards different modes of cocaine smuggling from Latin America toward Europe, Holland, and Serbia.
