Democratic Party (DS) official Marko Djurisic believes the list "Choice for a Better Life" will win the majority in the May 6 elections. He stressed that the so-called "major coalition" between the DS and the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) was not a realistic option after the election. Coalition with SNS not realistic, DS official says Djurisic, who is the chairman of the DS Executive Board and the party's campaign manager, told Belgrade-based Pink TV on Friday and said the candidate for prime minister would come from the ranks of DS. "Depending on the results of the election and the political situation, I believe the DS will be the party that will entrust someone with a mandate to form the government, at the proposal of soon to be re-elected president Boris Tadic," said the DS official. “Depending on which parties make it into the parliament, we will reach a political agreement and form the government,” he added. Djurisic also dismissed the possibility of collaboration with parties which oppose Serbia's EU accession, such as the Serb Radical Party (SRS) and the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), as long as their stance remained unchanged. Asked about potential candidates for prime minister, he said the DS had many, but that the party had not discussed this and would not be making any announcements before the election. Talking about presidential elections, Djurisic recalled that Tadic won by four percent in 2004 and two percent in 2008 and said he expected a similar result this time around, but stressed the importance of a high voter turnout. He believes the presidential elections will go into a second round, which would take place on May 20, and that the government will be formed at all levels soon afterwards. Tanjug
