Democratic Party (DS) deputy leader and Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac says that the current government has fulfilled all its promises from four years ago. He called on the people to support the DS in continuing the reforms. Government “fulfilled all promises” Speaking at a meeting on Friday, marking the 22nd anniversary of the DS municipal committee in the central Serbian city of Jagodina, Sutanovac stated that everyone who wanted a better standard for their children should vote for the DS, because the list was "a choice for a better life." "Serbia has no right to stop, no right to let (Serbian Progressive Party leader) Tomislav Nikolic sit in Zoran Djindjic's chair on an anniversary of his assassination," the DS deputy leader remarked. “Even those who support the SNS cannot say what their policy is, what their true attitude towards European values is, what their policy towards Kosovo, the region and neighborhood and national minorities is,” he pointed out. “The idea, vision, that was established at the time of the democratic changes in 2000, advocated by Dragoljub Micunovic, Zoran Djindjic and, today, Boris Tadic, has not been fulfilled entirely, although Serbia is on the right path,” he said. "Four years ago, we offered Serbia in Europe and Europe in Serbia. Four years later, with all the hardships and difficulties, criticism and obstructions, we got the candidate status and recognition from the EU that we are a country that conducts reforms in a way required by the EU in order to join the EU as soon as possible," Sutanovac concluded.
