Equality Protection Commissioner Nevena Petrusic has strongly condemned the “scandalous and offensive” photographs from Serbian judicial trade union’s dinner. The photographs show dinner being served off the naked bodies of two women. “Photos from justice union dinner are scandalous” Petrusic has called on the authorities to investigate the incident. “This act of abuse and violence has humiliated and belittled all the women in Serbia, it has violated their human dignity and moral integrity,” she said in a statement and called for an urgent reaction of the competent authorities. Several Belgrade media have recently published the photos taken at the Serbian judicial trade union’s celebration in Kladovo's Djerdap Hotel in June 2011. “The event shows the proportions and consequences of discrimination of women in Serbia which has to stop,” the equality protection commissioner pointed out. She noted that those responsible for the “shameful act” must be held responsible and that they needed to suffer consequences for their actions. Nevena Petrusic (B92, file) Beta
