Vojvodina Executive Council Chairman and Democratic Party (DS) deputy leader Bojan Pajtic says his party has not decided on its candidate for prime minister. He added that the party still had not discussed whether it would make the nomination before or after the election. “DS still has no candidate for PM” "We as a party certainly have the most potential candidates for the post of prime minister. Organizations and competent bodies inside DS will decide who it will be, but one thing is for sure - whomever we choose, the first requirement will be that he does a good and honest good, and we have plenty of competent and honest people," Pajtic told Tanjug. He said he had no doubt the DS, i.e. the list headed by the party, would win the coming election, both in Vojvodina and in all of Serbia. The DS official said he would still head the DS' provincial list because in the last two terms when the DS was in power in Vojvodina, it had proved that with responsible policy, economic growth could be achieved even in the time of a global economic crisis. Pajtic reminded that over the last eight years in Vojvodina around 69,000 people found jobs and 29 companies facing closure after failed privatizations had been revitalized. Noting he was proud of the fact that peace prevailed in Vojvodina even in the 1990s, and that it was the only ethnically mixed region in the former Yugoslavia where there was not civil war and bloodshed, he stressed this showed that relations among its national communities were stable and people appreciated the ethnic diversity of the province.
