United Regions of Serbia (URS) leader Mladjan Dinkic has said that Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic must not agree to a coalition with the Progressives. “As long as Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic does not state publicly, loud and clear, that he will not enter a coalition with Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolic under any circumstances, a post election coalition between the two is possible,” the former minister pointed out. Tadic "must say clear no" to DS-SNS coalition "If after the last election, he tried hard to rehabilitate (Socialist Party of Serbia leader) Ivica Dacic and allow him great space for political promotion and advancement, what guarantees that he will not do the same with Nikolic tomorrow," Dinkic told daily Vecernje novosti. He called on the president to remove all doubt that an alliance with the SNS was a possibility, saying "the democratic public expects this from him." To the comment that the DS, and Tadic himself, have said on several occasions that a coalition with the SNS is out of the question, the URS leader said: "Tadic has never publicly denied this. People from the DS have said this, but the key role in the formation of the future government will not be played by Jelena Trivan, or Dragoljub Micunovic or Dusan Petrovic, but the leader of their party. That is why it is fair to the voters that party leaders state before the election with whom they will not form post-electoral alliances, so that the people know who they are voting for," the URS leader was quoted as saying.
