Activists of several extreme right wing groups today heckled a government minister and chanted the names of Hague indictees during a Statehood Day ceremony.

Activists of several extreme right wing groups today heckled a government minister and chanted the names of Hague indictees during a Statehood Day ceremony. The event was held in Orasac, central Serbia, where the First Serbian Uprising was launched in 1804. Right-wingers heckle minister during ceremony Members of the Nasi (Ours), Obraz, and the Serb Chetnik Movement groups interrupted a speech given by Culture Minister Predrag Markovic by shouting and chanting of the names of Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic. They also accused the authorities of destroying the country and betraying Kosovo. Markovic responded by saying that their behavior was comparable to "a country fair". "Today we celebrate not only a date, but also virtue and I thank those who help in this. I also thank those who can tell a holiday apart from a country fair, because country fairs serve to let off steam," the minister was quoted as saying. Right-wingers heckle minister during ceremony

Members of the Naši (Ours), Obraz, and the Serb Chetnik Movement groups interrupted a speech given by Culture Minister Predrag Marković by shouting and chanting of the names of Ratko Mladić and Radovan Karadžić.

They also accused the authorities of destroying the country and betraying Kosovo.

Marković responded by saying that their behavior was comparable to "a country fair".

"Today we celebrate not only a date, but also virtue and I thank those who help in this. I also thank those who can tell a holiday apart from a country fair, because country fairs serve to let off steam," the minister was quoted as saying.

Extreme right wing groups on previous years also used the Orašac ceremonies to express their political stances.
