Former Slovenian foreign minister Samuel Zbogar will assume the office of the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) in Kosovo on Monday. Slovenian news agency STA reported that his tenure will last until mid 2013, with the possibility of extension. Last week, the former Slovenian foreign minister said for STA that in the new job he will face two major challenges. The first was "to help Kosovo stay on the course of building its institutions, the rule of law, democracy and respect for human rights, whereas the second challenge is related to the relations between Serbs and (ethnic) Albanians".
