Serbia can do enough for the member states to acknowledge that it has made progress in comparison to the situation in December, says a government official. Head of the Serbian government's EU Integration Office Milica Delevic commented on the situation ahead March 2, when the EU is to deliver a decision on Serbia's attempt to become candidate for membership in that organization. "Serbia can do enough" by March deadline “It is important that the member states reach a conclusion that we have made progress in meeting conditions set by the EU Council. And these pre-requisites are well-known: the implementation of the agreements reached with Pristina, the progress in implementation of the integrated management of the crossings, reaching an agreement as regards regional representation and the free movement of international missions in the entire territory of Kosovo and Metohija,” Delevic said. Speakinhg for Belgrade newspaper Vecernje Novosti in an intervview published on Monday, she added that "compared to December, we have established the full legal framework for the implementation of the achieved agreements and we have been implementing them for quite some time, and the talks on Pristina's presentation in regional meetings are ongoing". “It is in the interest of Serbia to take part in regional meetings and that it can dedicate itself fully to the issues that are being raised in them without thinking about the way in which other participants are represented,” Delevic said. She added that UN SC Resolution 1244 does not propose specific modes of regional representation, but rather recommends a political process which should yield an agreement. “Hence, a mode of Kosovo's representation in international meetings should be defined through a political agreement. Serbia takes the stand that it will only accept a solution that is in line with Resolution 1244,” Delevic stressed. Milica Delevic (Beta, file) Tanjug Vecernje novosti
