Serbian government's Media Office Chief Milivoje Mihajlovic has said that Belgrade and Pristina are one step closer to a solution for Kosovo’s representation. He added, however, that a final solution was still not very close. Solution for Kosovo representation "still not close” "The only model as far as the Serbian government is concerned is that Pristina be represented in line with (UN Security Council) Resolution 1244. The plate in front of Pristina's delegation should day Kosovo 1244 or UN. Yesterday we came a step closer to a solution, but we are still not close," Mihajlovic told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) on Thursday. He pointed out the Serbian government did not want to keep Pristina from appearing at regional forums but wanted to contribute to regulating the situation in the province. According to him, the Serbian government insists that Kosovo's institutions be represented in line with international documents i.e. in line with the document which is a key to the relations between Belgrade and Pristina. Asked if Serbia was pressured to recognize Kosovo in Wednesday's meeting between EU mediator in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Robert Cooper and Belgrade team chief Borislav Stefanovic, Mihajlovic said pressure was always present and the countries which had recognized Kosovo would always advocate this position, but pointed out Serbia would never recognize Kosovo's independence. The Media Office chief said most of the agreements reached to date in the dialogue were already being implemented, while the agreement on university degrees would soon be implemented fully. "I think there is a chance we will achieve something regarding integrated administration of crossings. This is a technical matter and an agreement in principle has been reached," Mihajlovic stressed. Asked about the upcoming referendum in northern Kosovo, he said a certain level of talks with local Serb representatives would continue but that the referendum would affect neither Serbia's European path nor the situation in the province.
