The radical ethnic Albanian Self-Determination Movement ended late on Sunday its protests near the Merdare and Bela Zemlja administrative crossings in Kosovo. The protests, organized in a bid to stop the entry of vehicles coming from central Serbia, were called off on Sunday, because "the Kosovo police precluded the supply of items necessary for the protesters". However, the protest at Bela Zemlja was allegedly ended due to a quarrel between the demonstrators. A few hours later, the movement decided to end the protest near Merdare as well. Due to restrictions by the police in terms of logistics, and because of low temperatures, it has become impossible for the protesters to stay in Merdare, the statement reads. The movement stated that the Kosovo police blocked all the roads leading to the sites where the protests were staged, with the aim to block the communication between urban centers and the people who staged the protest.
