Kosovo’s assembly adopted Friday a new decision on reciprocity measures with Serbia, annulling the one adopted at Self-Determination Movement's initiative. As envisaged by the new decision, the Kosovo government should deliver quarterly reports to the parliament about the implementation of reciprocity measures in relations with Belgrade. Kosovo assembly adopts new reciprocity measures “With the new decision, the Kosovo assembly welcomes all agreements reached between the governments of Kosovo and Serbia, and supports their implementation,” said Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) whip Adem Grabovci. “The government has the obligation to establish the reciprocal measures with Serbia and to send reports on the progress in the dialogue and reciprocity implementation to the parliament every three months,” Grabovci added. A total of 50 MPs voted for the proposed document, 41 opposed it and one abstained from voting. Grabovci voiced the belief that the proposal would open the way to European integration for Kosovo. Self-Determination MP Visar Imeri said during the deliberations that the unwillingness of the government to implement its earlier decision was doing Kosovo a great damage. On January 14, Self-Determination blocked the roads leading to the Bela Zemlja and Merdare administrative crossings in an attempt to prevent the inflow of goods from central Serbia. The movement accused the government of not implementing the previously approved proposal for the application of measures of reciprocity in political, trade and economic relations with Belgrade. The Self-Determination Movement representatives sent a message that they would organize new protests whenever they found that Kosovo’s interests were endangered. Tanjug
