Democratic Party (DS) deputy leader Dusan Petrovic has stated that there will be no coalition with the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) after the elections. He added that SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic could not lead Serbia into the European Union (EU). “Progressives can’t lead Serbia into EU” “It’s good that Toma Nikolic believes in Europe but he didn’t believe three-four years ago. However, Nikolic and the SNS cannot lead Serbia into the EU and it is not going to be difficult for the citizens to decide in the elections,” Petrovic told reporters in Valjevo. Commenting on the Kosovo issue and the European integration, he stressed that the big state issues were being solved by President Boris Tadic and the Serbian government and that good news from Brussels would come in a month and a half because a consensus on the continuation of Serbia’s EU integration would be reached. “Life must not stop in Serbia because of the negotiations about Kosovo with Europe and Serbia’s EU accession,” the DS deputy leader pointed out. “I believe that Germany and Austria will come to a conclusion that instability in Europe is the most expensive and there is no stability without Serbia and the Balkans in the EU,” Petrovic concluded.
