Pristina's negotiator in the ongping Kosovo dialogue has said that the talks might be temporarily suspended in early spring. This would be in the time when new elections should be held in Serbia, said Edita Tahiri, adding that "the planned presidential elections in Kosovo might also cause a break in the dialogue". K. Albanians expect pause in dialogue "We also expect presidential elections, so a temporary break in the dialogue might take place then as well," Tahiri told Koha Ditore, a Pristina-based Albanian language newspaper. She refuted the claims that the dialogue could be set in a time-limited frame, stressing that the EU and its mediator Robert Cooper were interested in having the dialogue lasting enough to cover all the topics introduced, as the talks were determined by their agenda, rather than deadlines. She also said that Kosovo's representation at regional meetings would be a hot topic as Serbia had hard time accepting "the statehood of Kosovo": "At present, the differences are conceptual, as the Serbian side still insists on UN Security Council Resolution 1244, while we believe the resolution belongs to the past and does not reflect the reality on the ground." As regards other topics, such as energy and telecommunications, Tahiri said the Kosovo side was very creative when it came to solutions offered, blaming Belgrade for not showing enough interest in the topics. Tahiri expressed her satisfaction about the results achieved in the dialogue with Belgrade so far. Edita Tahiri (file) Tanjug
