Serbian President Boris Tadic’s message that Serbs in Montenegro should be its loyal citizens has insulted Montenegro, Democratic Party of Socialists says. DPS’ Miodrag Vukovic added that Tadic had humiliated Serb representatives in Montenegro and the state organs. “President Tadic insulted Montenegro” “The meeting with Tadic was not a talk between equal people, the Serbian president gave a lecture to (Socialist People's Party of Montenegro leader) Srdjan Milic and (New Serb Democracy leader) Andrija Mandic and called on them to be loyal citizens of the state they have citizenship of. That is the biggest underestimate of Milic and Mandic,” he told MINA news agency. The DPS official stressed that Milic and Mandic, as serious men and politicians, did not need anyone to tell them to be loyal to the state they lived in. Vukovic claims that the Council of the Republic of Serbia for Relations with Serbs in the Region meeting, which was held on Friday in Belgrade, had nothing to the with the status of Serbs in neighboring countries and that it had everything to do with Belgrade’s desire to influence processes in the countries of the region. He also stressed that a part of Serbia, including Tadic, did not recognize Montenegrin independence. “I wonder how Serbia would react if its Hungarians were invited to Budapest or Albanians to Tirana,” the DPS official said. “The meeting is just an indicator of Serbia’s inability to solve its open issues and desire to draw attention to other things and it is a proof of confusion that is present in the Serbian political scene,” Vukovic concluded.
