European Council decision “won’t destabilize government"
Serbian government’s Media Office Chief Milivoje Mihajlović says that a decision to postpone Serbia’s EU candidate status cannot destabilize the government.

Serbian government’s Media Office Chief Milivoje Mihajlovic says that a decision to postpone Serbia’s EU candidate status cannot destabilize the government. He added that the decision would not affect calling of the elections. European Council decision “won’t destabilize government" “We had key moments before. The government will continue its daily activities, the most important thing for Serbia at the moment is to continue its European path,” Mihajlovic told Belgrade-based Pink TV. He stressed that the European Council’s decision was expected in the previous five days but that it had not been the case a month ago. “The government has completely fulfilled the European law adoption agenda. However, we have received some new conditions so this decision was expected five days ago but not a month ago,” the Media Office chief pointed out. He said that the government had adopted two times more bills than all the governments since October 5, 2000 combined. “We have no reason to be ashamed of our European path. As far as Kosovo is concerned, the Serbian government can look Europe in the eye. It was us who started the dialogue in the first place,” Mihajlovic stressed. Commenting on the issue of Kosovo’s participation at regional meetings, the Media Office chief said that it was in the Serbian government’s interest to have Pristina at the forums.
