100 days after the launch of B92 Fund’s Battle for Babies campaign, five new incubators were delivered to the Institute for Neonatology in Belgrade on Friday. With the delivery of the new incubators, the biggest neonatology institution in Serbia has satisfied the needs for new incubators. Hospitals receive B92 campaign incubators Moreover, the Institute will get another delivery of 12 incubators, which will mean that it will have total number of 52 incubators on its disposal. More than a half of the incubators in the hospital is now new. The following companies provided the purchase of the new incubators: The Building Directorate of Serbia (BDS), Serbian Business Club "Privrednik", State Lottery of Serbia, along with Milan Popovic and B92 Fund. On the event of handing over incubators today, the future plans within newly founded Foundation "Battle for the Babies" have been discussed. The Foundation will, with the assistance of the management of the Institute for Neonatology, try to realize those plans which include the reconstruction of the intensive care unit, as well as reconstruction of the ceiling and attic premises along with constructing an outdoor elevator. B92 Fund President Veran Matic and the representatives of donors had toured the intensive care unit which will be equipped with the modern up-to-date Caleo incubators with the possibility of self-purification. This equipment will most certainly help with the most difficult cases as the stay of the prematurely born babies in the incubator and supply of oxygen will not be interrupted at any moment. Institute for Neonatology Board of Directors President Doctor Dusan Scepanovic and Institute for Neonatology Director Dr Niveska Bozinovic Prekajski have thanked the B92 Fund on the organization and quick realization of this humanitarian campaign, expressing their deep trust that future activities of this foundation would also be successful. After visiting Institute for Neonatology in the morning, the B92 fund representatives delivered new incubators to Zvezdara Clinical Center and Narodni Front Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic. Two new incubators were delivered to Zvezdara Clinical Center in the presence of the representatives of Porsche SCG and "Quality Tours" companies who provided funds with for the incubators. Matic handed over the new incubators to Zvezdara Clinical Center Director Dr Aleksandar Milosevic. A symbolic "tour" through the health institutions in Belgrade was finished around 14:00 CET with the delivery of two new incubators to Narodni Front Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic. The purchase of these incubators was provided by the Justice Ministry, Directorate of Seized Property Management and Koteks company. Narodni Front Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinic’s Maternity Ward Chief Dr Snezana Rakic expressed gratitude to B92 Fund and all those who actively participated in the "Battle for the Babies" campaign. She emphasized that the motto "Health is the greatest wealth" was the leading idea followed by all employees in this health institution. Primary goal of the "Battle for the Babies" was to raise funds for the purchase of the 100 new incubators for the needs of the youngest and most vulnerable fellow citizens. Today, precisely 100 days after its launch, we provided funds for total number of 179 incubators, or on average little less than two incubators per day. The data itself presents a kind of record, bearing in mind that health workers in Serbia had been so far working with the incubators that were more than 30 years old. The success of the "Battle for the Babies" campaign has showed that it is possible to direct entire society in a positive way. Delivery of incubators as a part of the “Battle for the Babies" campaign will be continued as new contingents of incubators reach Serbia.
