Poland will "strongly support Serbia's candidacy in December" - on condition that the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue yields results. This is according to Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, who spoke on Tuesday in Warsaw. "Poland to back Serbia if dialogue yields results" Sikorski made the statement during a meeting with Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic. Poland is currently holding the rotating EU presidency. As Djelic told Tanjug news agency, Sikorski said that Poland and other EU member states are waiting to see what will happen after the latest round of Kosovo talks, resumed in Brussels on Monday and Tuesday. "The positions of the European Commission (EC) and all EU member states are familiar, and that is why it is good that progress was made in the dialog yesterday," Djelic underlined. "Additional progress is necessary so that EU foreign ministers would on December 4-5, and later heads of state and government on December 9, grant Serbia the EU candidate status," Djelic said.

Sikorski made the statement during a meeting with Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister Božidar Đelić.

Poland is currently holding the rotating EU presidency.

As Đelić told Tanjug news agency, Sikorski said that Poland and other EU member states are waiting to see what will happen after the latest round of Kosovo talks, resumed in Brussels on Monday and Tuesday.
