Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) deputy leader Dusan Bajatovic says it would be best if Democratic Party, Serbian Progressive Party and SPS formed a government. The government could be a way out of the national and economic crisis and it is certain that it would remove threats of political instability,” he told Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik. DS, SNS, SPS “would make best government” The SPS deputy leader stressed that the Socialists were determined to continue their cooperation with the DS and that they saw it as a future partner. “Cooperation with the DS remains our commitment and anyway, that was one of the methods in SPS’ reform,” Bajatovic said and added that the SNS, despite popularity, would not be able to win majority of votes. “This is where a coalition capacity issue appears. The SPS is a desirable partner for many. And who does the SNS have at its disposal? They cannot agree on Kosovo and the European Union with (Democratic Party of Serbia leader Vojislav) Kostunica, there is no way they can agree with the Radicals. This means that they are looking for potential partners outside the opposition circle,” he told daily Press. Commenting on Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) recent decision to leave parliament session, Bajatovic stressed that the SPO was not SPS’ coalition partner and that it had nothing to do with them. He added that the SPS had acted as a “sort of catalyst” that would “ease tensions” among bigger partners. Dusan Bajatovic (Tanjug, file)
