SPO MPs leave, then return to parliament session

Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) MPs left the parliament session Thursday and requested from MPs to vote on <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2011&mm=11&dd=14&nav_id=77321" class="text-link" target= "_blank">Diaspora and Religion Minister Srđan Srećković’s work</a>.

Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) MPs left the parliament session Thursday and requested from MPs to vote on Diaspora and Religion Minister Srdjan Sreckovic’s work. However, the four SPO MPs later returned to the session. SPO MPs leave, then return to parliament session SPO deputy leader Zika Gojkovic told reporters in parliament that the SPO MPs had left the session because they requested the parliament to vote on Sreckovic’s interpellation. He stressed that the SPO MPs would not take part in the voting. ”The SPO would not vote for it if Srdjan Sreckovic did a good job, it would abstain regarding the interpellation,” the SPO deputy leader explained. He added that the SPO never conditioned their support with any sort of party interests and that their only goal was to end the propaganda about Sreckovic. Srdjan Sreckovic (Tanjug, file) “Govt. may fall if problem persists” Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS)-United Serbia (JS) whip Branko Ruzic stated after the SPO MPs had left the session that he hoped that the problems within the Democratic Party (DS) ruling parliamentary group would be solved. “That’s the DS’ issue. If there are such problems I hope they will be resolved and the elections will follow if there is no possibility to resolve them,” he told reporters. Ruzic added that SPO’s actions reminded him of blackmail and once again repeated that it was DS’ problem.

SPO deputy leader Žika Gojković told reporters in parliament that the SPO MPs had left the session because they requested the parliament to vote on Srećković’s interpellation.

He stressed that the SPO MPs would not take part in the voting.

”The SPO would not vote for it if Srđan Srećković did a good job, it would abstain regarding the interpellation,” the SPO deputy leader explained.
