Officials of four north Kosovo municipalities on Friday asked for their representatives to be present at the planned parliament's session on Kosovo. They also urged Minister for Kosovo and Metohija and MPs from the province not to vote for the government's draft declaration on Kosovo. Serbs from north wish to attend parliament session They said that according to what they learned about the document from the media, it constitutes a violation of the Serbian Constitution. The Serbian parliament session is yet to be scheduled. Friday's session of the municipal assemblies of Kosovska Mitrovica, Leposavic, Zvecan and Zubin Potok also reiterated the requests for reconsideration of continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and urged the authorities not to implement agreements which have been reached with Pristina so far. The Serb leaders from northern Kosovo also decided to send a letter to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin pleading with him to help in efforts to ensure the survival of Serbs in Kosovo. They also announced they would file criminal charges against the members of the Belgrade negotiating team. “We want to see the continuation of the talks with the EU and Pristina reconsidered, as the murderers of Kosovo Serbs should be identified and brought to justice before that,” the conclusions read. The cause of the current crisis in the north is rooted in violent actions undertaken by Albanian authorities from Pristina in July and September, and the biased support they received from KFOR and EULEX which step out of their mandates, it was said. Instead of removing the causes of the crisis, the actions of the international community are constantly aimed at removal of consequences, while responsibility is laid on the Serb side, the conclusions added. The mayors and councilors also requested that all future elections in Serbia should also be organized in the territory of Kosovo at the same time. The municipal officials once again stated in their conclusions to be sent both to the government and parliament, that presence of any form of customs and border police was unacceptable on the administrative crossings of Brnjak and Jarinje, and that those could never become "border crossings". For that reason, any solution to overcome the crisis must be in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1244, the councilors said, and expressed their expectation that Serbia will preserve and strengthen its institutions and legitimate interests in Kosovo and Metohija, despite numerous political and other pressures. The meeting also concluded that the Serb people's peaceful, but determined and united resistance in the north came only as a consequence of violent actions, and that for that reason, the citizens from northern Kosovo and Metohija expect help and support for their desire to continue living in their homes and in the state of Serbia from the Serbian parliament, most political subjects, media outlets, and other citizens. The session today in Kosovska Mitrovica was open to the public. Mayors of Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvecan and Zubin Potok took part, as well as a municipal official from Leposavic, who arrived instead of the town's mayor. Kosovska Mitrovica District chief Radenko Nedeljkovic also attended.
