Ruling Democratic Party (DS) whip Nada Kolundzija has said that not a single attack and murder of Serbs in Kosovo has been tried so far. She stressed that trust in the Pristina, i.e., Kosovo Albanian, institutions is therefore "justifiably being brought into question". “Barricades in Kosovo result of Pristina’s action" She added that the barricades in northern Kosovo were “a consequence of Pristina's unilateral moves”. Kolundzija told B92 that she hoped that Savo Mojsic’s murder would not become just another case of murder of a Serb with no accused or tried persons. She pointed out that nobody had been held responsible for crimes against Serbs so far and that a question was therefore raised as to how people could have confidence in the Pristina institutions. The DS official added that the barricades “will be removed as soon as the reason for them is removed, i.e. as soon as a solution is found for the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings”. Kolundzija said Belgrade had been showing willingness to solve all issues related to Kosovo peacefully and through talks and underlined the dialogue was cut short by Pristina's unilateral actions. She said she expected the government to adopt the draft declaration on Kosovo and forward it to parliament. When asked about the draft declaration on Kosovo which has surfaced in the media, which says the Serbian parliament supports the peaceful protests, Kolundzija said Pristina's actions unsettled the Kosovo Serbs and awoke their resistance and readiness to protect their interests. According to her, adoption of the declaration on Kosovo could bring Serbia closer to a positive decision regarding the EU candidate status because it would confirm the country’s readiness to solve problems peacefully and through dialogue. She added that on one hand “hysteria” that Serbia would not become an EU candidate because of Kosovo and on the other that it would renounce its southern province for the sake of the EU membership on the other, was worrying.
