Talks between Belgrade team head Borislav Stefanovic, EU facilitator Robert Cooper and U.S. State Department official Phillip Reeker have been completed. “The dialogue in Brussels will not go on because the Serbian delegation was not ready to continue the talks on Wednesday,” Cooper stated after the meeting. "Serbian delegation not ready to continue talks" Cooper said in a written statement that the situation at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings in northern Kosovo was not the topic either of the dialogue or the talks with Serbia, although Belgrade set it as a precondition for the continuation of the dialogue with Pristina on Tuesday evening. “The Wednesday meeting was planned to table energy sector, telecommunications and Kosovo's participation in regional forums, as well as the implementation of the previous agreements,” the EU mediator said. He said that the dialogue would be continued once the Serbian party was ready for it, adding that the goal of the talks was to reach agreements on the topics which would improve life of people and make the two parties closer. Stefanovic told Tanjug on Tuesday that the only topic of the talks in Brussels would be the situation at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings and the attempt to solve this problem through a dialogue with the international community. “Our request directed at the international community, more precisely the EU, was a clear one - there is no other topic except resolution of the situation at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings,” he explained. “This request was met and the talks with Pristina have been postponed until further notice,” the team chief said. “The talks will not continue until a solution is found,” Stefanovic added. When asked about his expectations concerning the dialogue with Reeker and Cooper, Stefanovic said that there were modalities which would enable free flow of goods and people which exclude the presence of Kosovo customs officers at the checkpoints.
