The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) says that Belgrade team chief Borislav Stefanovic's policy is leading to "an express recognition of Kosovo independence". "While (Foreign Minister) Vuk Jeremic was handling the policy, we had a crawling recognition of independence, but today when Stefanovic is handling the policy we have an express recognition of independence," DSS Spokesman Petar Petkovic told a press conference on Monday. DSS accuses team head of “express recognition of Kosovo” "There is nothing he wouldn’t accept in order to establish good neighborly relations with our southern province,” Petkovic added. Commenting on the accusations made by Stefanovic that the DSS was trying to destroy the state policy and take advantage of the northern Kosovo situation in the upcoming elections, Petkovic said that it would be better if the team head admitted who was taking Kosovo away from Serbia. “It is not the DSS which is taking Kosovo away from Serbia, but the two pillars (the EU and the U.S.) and strategic partners in the foreign policy of the ruling coalition. If Borislav Stefanovc is truly fighting to keep Kosovo in Serbia, he should come out and say openly who are the ones taking Kosovo away from Serbia," the DSS spokesman pointed out. According to him, acceptance of the Stabilization and Association Agreement, the EULEX mission and the EU Resolution on Kosovo, in place of the resolution the Serbian parliament passed earlier, are all signs of the "crawling recognition." "With the opening of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and acceptance of the customs stamp, we have an express recognition of Kosovo's independence led by Borislav Stefanovic," Petkovic believes. The DSS spokesman reiterated that Kosovo could only be kept in Serbia by respecting the Serbian Constitution, Resolution 1244 and the UN Charter. Petar Petkovic
