The Athens subway and trams will not work for 24 hours, while bus and trolleybus drivers will stop their vehicles for several hours during rush-hour. Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos announced recently that his debt-ridden country would introduce new austerity measures. The announcement came only a day after Greece had come one step closer to a new bailout tranche. The country desperately needs the next tranche in order to avoid default in mid-October.
