Vojvodina Executive Council Chairman Bojan Pajtic said Thursday that Vojvodina's representatives had started operating in Brussels. He added that this represented the realization of an agreement with the Serbian government on the foundation of the province's office at the EU headquarters. Vojvodina opens office in Brussels “Vojvodina's representatives started operating in Brussels, and they will carry out their tasks at the building belonging to the Serbian mission to the EU, which by itself proves Vojvodina's commitment to Serbia,” Pajtic underlined. Identifying development and jobs creation as the provincial government's priorities, he noted that in the recent years Vojvodina had attracted the foreign investments worth around EUR 6.3bn. “Consequently, the main task of our representatives in Brussels will be to attract more foreign investments so as to secure the province's greater participation in the EU development funds,” the Vojvodina Executive Council chairman stressed. As it was published on the Vojvodina government's website, Pajtic highlighted that a sum of around EUR 50bn of the Danube Strategy funds was dedicated to application, so Vojvodina's representatives in the EU should secure a greater presence, lobby for the EU funds and thus facilitate a faster development of the province, the Provincial Culture and Public Information Secretariat released. On Wednesday, Pajtic presented the potentials of Vojvodina towns to members of the Committee of the Regions of the European Parliament as part of the manifestations “Serbia Days in Brussels”.
