Ivica Dacic said on Monday it was "questionable whether any agreement related to Kosovo made with the international community is still valid". Speaking during a break in a conference in Belgrade on Tuesday, Serbia's interior minister and deputy PM said this referred to the Kumanovo agreement and UN Security Council Resolution 1244 - the documents related to the end of the 1999 war in Kosovo. Minister questions validity of deals with intl. community Dacic addressed the issue in the context of announcements from the Kosovo Albanian authorities in Pristina that they would send their customs officers to the Brnjak and Jarinje administrative checkpoints in the north - against the will of the local Serbs there, and that of official Belgrade. It means the agreements reached with Serbia are not being respected, said the minister, and added that this included the Six Point Plan agreed on with the UN secretary general as EULEX was deployed in late 2008. It is also an attempt to change the reality on the ground, said Dacic. "I find it mystifying that some people fail to understand that they could once again lead to a conflict," Dacic said, and added that he had "Pristina, but also Washington, Brussels and Berlin" in mind. Dacic specified that his statements reflected "his own opinion", and that he had "no interest in what other ministers thought". "I have no interest in what others think. I am police minister, Ivica Dacic, and don't I have a right to think with my own head. This is leading nowhere, except to a new exodus of Serbs." He then added that the "question of Serbs from Kosovo should not be solved by depopulating Kosovo of Serbs". According to Dacic, we are witnessing attempts "by some parts of the international community" to "bring Kosovo's statehood to a full circle". He added that "the story about administrative crossings has nothing to do with solving problems related to the flow of goods and people". Dacic also noted that "Serbia too could have behaved irresponsibly on several occasions by shutting down administrative crossings used by (ethnic) Albanians on both sides of the administrative line", but, according to him - "did not want to do so". The minister concluded by saying the country "should continue to insist that the international community must respect arrangements made with Serbia". Ivica Dacic (Tanjug)
