Serbia to send documents to Croat general’s defense

Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal President Rasim Ljajic says Serbia will forward documents requested by Croat General Ante Gotovina’s defense. He added that the requested documents will be submitted to Gotovina’s defense team by September 30. Serbia to send documents to Croat general’s defense “Their request is being processed and we will respond to it in a timely manner. Among other things we need to check whether we own all the documents that are being requested from us,” Ljajic told Novi Sad-based daily Dnevnik. He added that certain records that Gotovina’s defense team was interested in “are not in our possession” and that the Hague Tribunal representatives were aware of that. The National Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal president said that Serbia at the moment did not have any open issues or unsolved requests made by the Hague Tribunal prosecution. “Our cooperation is routine now and it is based on submission of documents, access to archives, witness protection and our active involvement in proceedings that are being conducted in the Tribunal,” he pointed out. According to Ljajic, Bosnia-Herzegovina has no ground to renew its genocide suit against Serbia after General Momcilo Perisic's verdict. (Beta, file)
